International and Expat Tax Advice

The UK has officially abolished its long-standing non-domicile (non-dom) tax regime. In its place, a new residence-based system of taxation is now in effect, bringing significant changes for those living and working across borders.

If you’re an international employee in the UK, a British citizen returning from overseas, or someone with global income or assets, it’s essential to understand how these changes affect your tax position. We combine deep technical knowledge with a proactive, friendly approach to help you stay compliant and protect your wealth.

Because great people deliver great results, even when the rules change.

What’s changed?

Under the new residence-based tax system, individuals are now taxed on their worldwide income and gains once they become UK tax resident.

The previous remittance basis, which allowed non-doms to only pay UK tax on money brought into the UK, no longer applies.

Some new arrivals may benefit from limited reliefs during their first four years of UK tax residence—but after that, they’re treated the same as long-term UK residents.

These changes have widened the net for UK taxation and require careful planning to avoid unnecessary liabilities.

We can assist you with:

  • Understand your UK tax residence position
  • Review and restructure your wealth in light of the new rules
  • Identify available reliefs and transitional arrangements
  • Plan ahead for future tax years and compliance

Whether you’re moving to the UK for the first time, returning home, or restructuring your affairs, we’ll guide you every step of the way.

Helping U.S. expats stay compliant in the UK

For U.S. citizens or green card holders living in the UK, the complexity doubles. Regardless of where you live, you must file a U.S. tax return every year—and report your worldwide income to the IRS. Even if you pay tax in the UK through PAYE, the U.S. still wants to see your figures.

Our international tax team can:

  • Prepare and file your U.S. tax return
  • Submit required forms to the IRS
  • Handle U.S. state tax returns
  • Complete FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts)
  • Assist with late filings and Streamlined Compliance

We help U.S. expats avoid costly surprises by staying ahead of IRS obligations while managing UK tax compliance with confidence.
