London accountancy firm, Grunberg & Co, has launched a dedicated China business desk to help strengthen connections already forged across Asia.
The new service will provide Chinese businesses looking to do business in the UK, with a bridge through which they can interact and access business advice.
The desk will also help support the existing Chinese business community in the UK, allowing them to access Grunberg & Co’s services in a completely new way.
Headed by fluent Mandarin speaker Muhong He – an existing Accounts Senior in Grunberg & Co’s team – the new China desk will provide access to the firm’s full range of services and support.
The launch of the desk follows the firm’s decision to join the Reanda International accountancy network, which was founded in China, but now has more than 3,000 members across 120 offices in more than 30 countries.
Since joining in 2016 it has launched its own wholly owned subsidiary Reanda UK, which acts as the main point of contact for the network in the UK and supports other members with its expertise in international tax and accounting.
Speaking about the creation of the new China desk, Muhong said: “China offers a lot of opportunities to UK businesses who are looking to explore new markets and vice versa, and with recent talks of a golden age of trade between the two countries there has never been a better time to launch this service.
“Doing business in China requires a very particular approach and set of skills, including language, which is why a China desk is essential to our international expansion as a firm.”
Robert Bean, Managing Partner at Grunberg & Co added: “We are very excited to be launching this new resource for our new and existing clients.
“Our initial experience through our membership of Reanda International is that there is a growing interest in China in doing business in the UK and the same can be said of British businesses wanting to access this exciting market.
“We feel immensely fortunate to already have the expertise of Muhong in our team and I am sure that with her experience we will be able to assist a wide range of businesses across a number of countries.”
