Over the last few decades, David has supported several causes and organisations through his extensive philanthropic work. He is currently a dedicated board member of Nyumbani UK & the Hotcourses Foundation and Patient Safety Watch.

Established in 2004, the Foundation helps to fund the educational elements of Nyumbani programmes, which help disadvantaged children affected by HIV in Kenya, many of whom are orphans.

The solid education provided by the foundation offers a way for vulnerable children to pull themselves out of poverty.

Meanwhile, the ever-growing Patient Safety Watch, established by former Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt MP, promotes preserves and protects the health of the public by carrying out and commissioning research into patient safety issues.

It focuses on the nature of preventable harm and how to reduce it in healthcare systems around the world, focusing particularly on the NHS in England.

David’s previous philanthropic work includes driving from London to Jerusalem three times, and once to St Petersburg through the Arctic Circle, to raise money for handicapped children. David will do anything to raise money for charity – within reason!!

David lives in North London with his wife Louise. He has five grandchildren and two children.
