Taxation department
Peter McMahon - Tax Manager (Partner)
Peter joined Grunberg & Co in 2005 after working for an accountancy firm in the West End. He is experienced in HMRC enquiry settlements, negotiations and personal, corporate and inheritance tax planning. Peter is also practiced in trust and estate compliance and administration, he has implemented and advised on company share schemes and employment remuneration packages. His hobbies include reading Tax Adviser, Taxation Magazine and the HMRC manuals!
Gerry Dooley - Taxation Services Advisor
Gerry decided not to follow the rest of the Dooley family onto the stage and instead he has taken to a more taxing occupation! Although disappointed at missing out, he has appeared on UK television a few times, having been spotted in the Stretford End at Old Trafford.
Jyoti Pandya - Taxation Services Advisor
Jyoti started her career in tax with a West End firm, before joining Grunberg & Co in the latter half of 2007 to gain wider exposure. Since joining the firm she has gained experience in various aspects of income tax, capital gains, VAT, and the construction industry scheme. Jyoti is one quarter of our vibrant tax department, she enjoys cooking and shopping!
Zarin Dastur - Senior Tax Advisor
Zarin joined the firm in 2002. She has had a long career in Revenue and private practice with a wide experience in tax. Zarin is very happy to be a gamekeeper turned poacher.
Gareth Lishman - Tax Senior
Gareth decided to swap the hustle and bustle of the City for a new challenge with smaller firms in Golders Green so that he could gain a more hands on experience of a number of different taxes. Gareth is a very sociable and outgoing member of the tax department who is always willing to help. Gareth’s hobbies include painting and sketching, watching live music and playing football as well as forever tirelessly trying to break a 28 handicap at golf.
Robert Graham - Tax Junior
Robert is the most recent addition to the tax team and has been elated at the positive reception he has received from everyone at the firm. Robert recently completed a degree in Law and Taxation at Bournemouth University and is managing to get the practical experience, that will hold him in good stead for the future as he undertake's his tax qualifications.
Outside of his new employment Graham enjoy's watching my beloved Arsenal FC and listening to music. He will be a tax connoisseur!
Accounts and audit department
Gedalia Waldman
Gedalia joined in June 2010 as a recently qualified ACA accountant and quickly progressed to manager working closely with David Grunberg. He is a proud father of two boys who keep him both busy and entertained with their antics.
Avilasha Khanal
Avilasha is ACCA qualified and joined Grunberg and Co in April 2008. She is a competent and skilled accountant and enjoys working for the firm. Avilasha is a fun and friendly girl and in her spare time she enjoys a good game of bowling with her friends and family.
Benjamin Grunberg
Ben is currently studying to be ACA qualified. He joined the firm in 2008. Other than tapping on his calculator Ben is also an avid rock climber, photographer and diver – having just completed his PADI.
Deepan Shah
Deepan has been with the firm since 2001. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, exploring new places and of course, not forgetting, socialising with friends.
Maria Scott
Maria is one of our new ACA trainee accountants, joining us in September 2009. When not studying hard Maria can be found taking part in National Ultimate Frisbees Championships. Maria has recently taken up Kick Boxing and would like to be a National Kick Boxing Champion.
Norbert Fitzsimmons
Norbert joined Grunberg & Co in July 2002 and has not looked back since. He is the representative for the Irish on Accommodation Road and has become a Spurs fan since joining, after hearing all about the ‘great team’ from partners Alain and Robert! His interests include watching football, travelling and socialising with friends over the odd pint of Guinness.
Ron Better
Ron is AAT qualified and has been an accountant with Grunberg & Co since 2002. He cycles to work every day - rain or snow! - and is pioneering a healthy eating regime among the staff.
Sadia Khan
Sadia is currently studying to be ACA qualified. She joined the firm in 2007 and has excelled here ever since. In her spare time Sadia enjoy's socialising with her friends, reading, shopping and riding horse's.
Thin Kyu
Thin is currently studying to be ACCA qualified and has been with Grunberg & Co since 2005. She likes working for the firm due to the on the job training provided, which adds to her professional skills in all areas of accountancy.
Nima Hadi
Nima joined in April 2010, as a qualified Accountant Nima loves nothing more than working on various complex accounts, ensuring clients receive an A1 service. In her spare time Nima enjoys reading books by her favourite author Jane Austin. Nima enjoys travelling to distant and exotic location around the world.
Aashay Shah
Aashay is the newest addition to the accounts department joining in September 2010, as a trainee accountant. In his spare time Aashay can be found out and about with friends. He is passionate about films and his hobbies include football, photography going to the gym and is a self confessed tech geek.
Rudy Loeb
Rudy joined the firm as a trainee accountant in September 2010. He is currently making his way through the ACA qualification but mostly picking up his accounting skills from his colleagues who he enjoys working with. Rudy’s passions are travelling ,cooking, and photography and is in his element when he can mix all three together!
San Thida
San joined the firm in 2002 and became manager of the bookkeeping department in 2004. She is a Chartered Certified Accountant, graduating from Oxford Brookes University. Her role covers all accounting functions from bookkeeping on Sage to Payroll, VAT, management and statutory accounts. San spent 5 years in commerce before coming to London to progress further. She enjoys singing and reading technical books.
Mimi San
Mimi joined the firm in January 2008 and is a recent ACCA graduate. She is constantly expanding her knowledge and believes in smart planning to complete objectives and master success.
Adam Naylor
Adam joined the firm in 2011 and is currently training for ACA qualification. He has a background in engineering and is enjoying embracing accountancy and learning from everyone around him at Grunberg & Co.
Bookkeeping department
Kelly Croucher
Kelly joined as Management Accountant in August 2011, Kelly has taken over the running of the bookkeeping department from San Thida. Kelly enjoys hanging out with her friends in swanky London town and can be sometimes found smoozing in swanky bars at the weekend. On Summer days Kelly loves being out in the country wearing a pair of very colourful wellies.
Sharon Goldstein
Sharon joined in August 2010 working with Kelly in the Bookkeeping Department. Sharon enjoys socialising with her friends and family. She is the proud mum of three children 14,18 and 20 who keep her on her toes and drives her mad on a daily basis.
Payroll Department
Noel Bastians – Payroll Manager
Noel is competent on all aspects of Payroll and is proficient using both Earnie and Iris. He oversees the monthly payroll process for all clients and ensures its accuracy. Noel takes part in the Grunberg & Co lottery draw on a weekly basis and is waiting with baited breath for the day that we win!
Mehran Davari – Payroll Supporter
Mehran supports Noel in the payroll department. She oversees all P45/P46 forms for starters and leavers, maintains payroll records, co-ordinates the monthly payroll processing, deals with HMRC enquiries and provides accurate reports on all activities. When not running a payroll, Mehran can often be found demonstrating her belly dancing moves on the dance floor or enjoying a good catch up with her friends.
Administration department
Helen Cohen – Practice Manager
Helen has been with Grunberg & Co almost from the very beginning! Although Helen is the Practice Manger she also oversees various other functions within the firm, contributing to its overall well being. She is well versed in all areas of Employment Law, Credit Control, the Small Claims Court and proficient on Iris and Sage. Helen’s passion and commitment ensures that all the day-to-day activities at Grunberg & Co run smoothly. She has two beautiful daughters, Raquela and Melissa and can often be found with them at music concerts and on shopping trips.
Denise Latham
Denise is an expert in filing and is also responsible for the Grunberg & Co lottery entries every week! She is always on hand to give expert cooking advice as the firm’s very own Fanny Cradock. Denise lives with her husband Mel in Finchley.
Karen Freeman – Personal Assistant
Karen is David Grunberg’s Personal Assistant. When she isn’t trying to look after his every need and more importantly those of his clients, she can be found sunbathing on her speed boat on a hot day, getting bronzed!
Yeshie Abebe - Personal Assistant
Yeshie is executive assistant to the dynamic duo – Alain Stechler and Nirman Gill. She’s been with Grunberg & Co since 2005 and provides her team with excellent support and a sense of calmness. Yeshie is a committed individual with a sunny disposition and a keen interest in current affairs – attending the Bank of England’s quarterly economic briefing on behalf of the company. She is equally as committed to the voluntary sector, working with the homeless and the elderly in her community.
Anthony Williams - Project Manager/Marketing Co-ordinator
Anthony joined in July 2010, working closely with Leanne Leigh on Marketing. On weekends you can find Anthony hacking or jumping in Kent on his favourite horse 'Spot'.
Charlotte Cohen - Personal Assistant
Charlotte is Robert Bean's Personnal Assistant. Charlotte joined in November 2010, and has become the welcoming face of Grunberg and Co Limited. In her spare time Charlotte enjoys shopping trips with the girls.
Tina Shah - In-house Accountant
Tina joined in July 2011, supporting the Finance Department and Administration. Tina can be found in high end boutiques shopping to her heart’s content. Tina loves travelling the world, visiting cultural and amazing places but also enjoys a nice cup of tea with the girls.
Strategy and consultancy services
Leanne Leigh - Business Strategy & Leadership Development
Leanne originally qualified as an Accountant with Price Waterhouse Coopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) in 1996 before spending a number of years in commercial strategy roles for both the Arcadia Group and Dixons. In 2003 she launched her Consultant career, advising companies on their strategy, business planning and leadership development. Leanne constantly looks for new challenges, having recently taken up a panel position for Prime Thinkers in aid of Kith and Kids charity (www.primethinkers.com). Leanne lives with her husband Simon and two young daughters in Mill Hill.
